Mars Wrigley Canada names General Manager

TORONTO — Mars Canada has filled the role of General Manager with 12-year Mars alum, Ellen Thompson.

Thompson has over 20 years of consumer-packaged goods experience. She has held a variety of senior management roles within Mars including most recently, as General Manager of Global Fishcare business. She began her career at Mars in 2011 as Marketing Director for Ice Cream & COMBOS® in Mars Chocolate and moved to Pet Nutrition North America in 2013. During her tenure in Pet Nutrition, she held positions across sales and marketing, beginning as Marketing Director for PEDIGREE®, CESAR® and SHEBA®, before progressing to National Sales Director – PetSmart, and Vice President of Customer Accounts with responsibility for a wide spectrum of customers including Ecommerce, Pet Specialty, Grocery, and Mass.

Prior to joining Mars, Thompson held a variety of marketing roles with Kraft Foods, leading marketing for classic brands including Jell-O, Shake ‘n Bake, and StoveTop Stuffing.

Thompson will lead Mars Wrigley Canada in delivering its goals and continuing the growth her team has made in the region. She will serve as a member of the North America Leadership Team and Mars Wrigley Canada Leadership Team.
